Despite the hardships, she remained determined to improve her life and that of her family.

She completed her secondary education at Mangaldan National High School in 2001 and went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. However, due to financial constraints, she was only able to study for one year before deciding to seek work to support her family.

Her journey began locally as a factory worker, but it wasn’t long before she turned to domestic work—first in the Philippines, then abroad.

Her maid employment experiences are:

PHILPPINES (2003 – 2004), she took her first job as a domestic helper in the Philippines. She worked for a Filipino family, living in a four-room bungalow, and her main responsibility was caring for a 70-year-old elderly woman with a medical condition. It was a meaningful experience that taught her patience and attentiveness in caregiving.

SINGAPORE ( June 2010 – Apr 2022) Precilda took a leap of faith and moved to Singapore—a place that would become her second home for the next 13 years. Her first employer was a Chinese family living in a spacious five-bedroom landed property. The household included a couple, their three young children (ages 6, 4, and 1), and three dogs. She worked as an all-around helper, performing household duties such as cleaning, laundry, ironing, marketing, cooking, pet care, car washing, and childcare.

SINGAPORE ( October to December 2022), she worked for another Chinese family in a five-bedroom condominium. This time, she was part of a two-maid household and was specifically assigned to cooking for the couple—a task she handled with skill and care.

SINGAPORE ( December 2022 – December 2023), she transferred to an Indian family living in a four-bedroom HDB flat. The family consisted of a couple and their two adult children. Once again, Precilda took on the role of all-around helper, managing the household and caring for the family’s dog.

SINGAPORE ( Apr 2024 – June 2025) was her most recent employment began, when she joined another Chinese family living in a large three-storey, nine-bedroom landed home. The family included a couple and their three children (ages 12, 10, and 8). She worked alongside another helper, sharing responsibilities such as cleaning, laundry, ironing, marketing, cooking, childcare, and car washing.

Now back in the Philippines, Precilda is currently a stay-at-home wife, managing her own household while waiting for her next opportunity abroad.

Through the years, she has developed a deep preference for caring for children.

While she enjoys childcare, she is also open and willing to care for the elderly, and is prepared to receive training for direct nursing care, if needed.

In the kitchen, Precilda is skilled in preparing and cooking Filipino and Chinese dishes, and she is always open to learning new recipes.

Her motivation to work abroad is driven by her desire to give her child a better future through education and stable support.

She completed her secondary education at San Nicardo National High School in 1999. Determined to further her studies, she pursued a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce at Araullo University, graduating in 2004. With a desire to care for others, she later completed a certified caregiving course in 2009, enhancing her skills in elderly and special needs care. She worked as a factory worker (2004–2005), and then served as a pharmacy manager from 2005 to 2009. Her strong organizational and interpersonal skills made her an effective leader in a healthcare setting.

However, her career path took a new direction when she moved to Taiwan in late 2009 to work as a domestic helper and caregiver.

Her domestic work experiences:

1. TAIWAN (Dec 2009 – May 2011)

Served a Taiwanese family in a 3-bedroom condo
Household members: Couple, 82-year-old female elder, and 2 children (ages 9 & 8)
Duties: General housework (cleaning, laundry, ironing, cooking), child care, and elderly care (diabetic & hypertensive patient with amputated leg)

2. TAIWAN (Sep 2011 – Sep 2014)

Served an elderly couple (ages 85 & 80)
Female elder had diabetes and had undergone spinal surgery
Duties: Focused on elder care and daily household chores

3. TAIWAN (Mar 2015 – May 2018)

Served a family in a 5-bedroom, 2-storey house with a couple and 2 teenage children (ages 17 & 15)
Duties: All-around helper, including cooking, laundry, ironing, and cleaning

4. TAIWAN (May 2018 – Sep 2021)

Household included couple, elderly couple (82-year-old male with hypertension & diabetes; 78-year-old female with dementia & amputated leg), and a 15-year-old child
Focused on elderly care while maintaining the home

5. This role allows her to apply her caregiving skills in emotional and physical support, including administering medication and companionship. She finds fulfillment in providing support, comfort, and medical care to seniors in need.
