Desi is a 33yo Indonesian domestic helper. She shared that she had worked for her previous employer in Jakarta for almost 11 years.
Nov 2020 to Sep 2022 (2yrs) Singapore: Desi worked for a Chinese Family with 2 adults, 2 grown-up children and 1 Ah Ma. Staying in a HDB with 4 rooms,only helper in the household. She looked after Ah Ma (still healthy and mobile) and assisted her in her daily needs. She also managed in household chores such as cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry and assisted Ah Ma in cooking. She is able to cook simple dishes such as sauce pork, stir-fried vegetables, steam fish and so on. She finished contract and went home for a rest.
Dec 2022 to May 2023 (5 mths) Singapore: Desi worked for a Chinese Family with 3 children (age of 6yo boy). Staying in a 3-storey house with 5 rooms,only helper in the household. She mainly took care of the 6yo boy and her duties including preparing food, assisting to prepare for showers, preparing the child's school bag and uniform, and bringing the child to school. She also managed in household chores such as cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry and simple cooking. She was unable to finish her contract due to she cannot handle big house and the child at the same time.
May 2023 to Apr 2025 (2yrs) Singapore: Desi worked for a Chinese Family with 13 family members. Staying in a HDB with 4 rooms, only helper in the household. She took care of the twins children (age of 6yo) and her duties including preparing food, assisting to prepare for showers, preparing the child's school bag and uniform, and bringing the child to school. She also managed in household chores such as cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry and simple cooking. She finished her contract and went home for a break.
Desi looks forward to work in Singapore again to earn money to support her family.
