She has worked for Chinese families in Taiwan and Hong Kong, completing three‑year contracts in each deployment, where she focused on taking care of elderly family members. Through these experiences, she has gained the ability to converse in Mandarin and cook Chinese food. While her English is still poor, she is making efforts to improve it.

Her first employment was with a Taiwanese Chinese family where she cared for an independent elderly couple, ah gong and ah mah for 3 years. In addition, she managed household chores such as cleaning a terrace house, laundry, ironing, cooking, and marketing. Her cooking was tailored to the needs of elderly family members, preparing Chinese dishes with soft textures, mild seasoning, and balanced nutrition. She ensured meals were served on time, adjusted recipes to health requirements, and maintained proper hygiene in the kitchen.

Her second employment was with a Hong Kong Chinese family of three, consisting of ma’am, ah gong, and ah mah. She assisted ah gong, who was a stroke patient, with daily needs including feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing, and medication. She also accompanied him for medical checkups and exercise. Alongside caregiving, she handled household chores, cooking, and marketing, completing another three‑year contract successfully. In her cooking duties, she prepared daily Chinese meals suitable for the elderly couple, ensuring dishes were light, nutritious, and easy to consume. At the same time, she cooked a wider variety of meals for the ma’am, balancing traditional Chinese dishes with her preferences. She managed meal planning, portioning, and kitchen hygiene.

Lina is now ready for interview and prepared to start work in Singapore, with her family’s full support.
