She has accumulated 8 years of overseas experience, spending 6 years in Taiwan and 2 years in Singapore caring for elderly and disabled elderly. She is able to converse in simple Mandarin, though her English is limited.

 

From 2010 to 2017, she worked in Taiwan with a Chinese family of five consisting of Sir, Ma’am, two adult sons, and an 86-year-old Ah Mah who was disabled with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Widia assisted in all activities of daily living, medication, diapering, and hospital visits. She also managed household duties in a 4-storey terrace house with 5 bedrooms and 5 toilets, including housekeeping, cooking, and marketing. She provided full assistance in daily living, medication, diapering, exercise routines, and outside activities. She also cleaned and maintained a 2-bedroom HDB flat with 2 toilets, handling housekeeping, cooking, and marketing. She assisted in all daily living activities, diapering, and tube feeding. She managed household chores in a 3-bedroom HDB flat with 2 toilets, cooked for herself, and did marketing. Sir was diabetic and wheelchair-bound, requiring close medical support. Widia provided all daily living assistance, administered insulin injections, monitored blood sugar, gave medication, and accompanied him for medical checkups. She also maintained a 3-bedroom condominium with 2 toilets, handling housekeeping, cooking, and marketing.

 

She is able to cook simple Chinese dishes suitable for elderly employers, such as porridge and light meals. She adjusts food textures and taste, preparing dishes with less salt, less oil, and less sugar. Her cooking takes into account medical conditions, ensuring meals are safe, nutritious, and easy to consume.
