Ex-Singapore maidBoth her sir and madam were working. From 1999 to 2001, she worked for a Chinese family with 2 children ages 10 & 11 staying in 3-room flat. Her last employment was with chinese family taking care the old granny has cancer and sumilah gives her medicine and attends to her daily needs. she also cooks and do general housekeeping. They stayed in a 4-room flat. Reproduced below is her previous employer's reference letter: " Sumilah has worked for me for 2 yrs. During this period, she took care of the household chores & cooking competently. She is also adept at looking at cookbooks for new recipes. As I am working,she would decide on the menu &also did the marketing every 2 days with the budget I gave her. Her language skills are good as she understands English quite well & also some Mandarin&Hokkien. Sumilah worked for another Chinese family with elderly folks, cleaning 2 houses till Feb 2010 before going back to Indonesia to take a break. She has also worked for a Chinese family with an elderly couple needing attention and their grown up daughter staying in a flat. She also take good care of the 2 dogs. Her duties is to give food and bathe the dogs. She loves the dogs very much. She take good care of the dog. Do household chores and cook for the family. Right now,Sumilah"s availability would be around end of September till first week of October because her employer wants to extend her stay in the family because the employer ask her to give them sometime to find for another maid. Transfer maid5year, another baby came along). They stayed in a terrace house. After 5 years with them, she came to Singapore to work for a Chinese family staying in a 5 room flat. The family unit comprises of madam, sir, grandma and grandpa. When she joined, they have a 1 month old baby boy and a year later, another baby boy came along. Eli is very experienced in caring for babies. She can make milk, feed the baby, bathe, change diapers and bring the children to the clinic when they are sick. She also took care of the babies at night. She performed general household chores, washing, ironing and cooking. She worked for them for almost 3. 5 year, then she went to Istanbul, Turkey to work. She worked together with 3 other maids and a driver. 3 months later, a baby girl was borned. She took care of the baby day and night. She worked for them for 4 years. She returned to Singapore in Nov2008 to work for a Chinese family with a 3. 7 months later, another daughter was borned. She worked for them for only slightly more than 1. 5 year because her employer defaulted on levy payment. She went back to Indonesia to rest for a few months, then came back again to work for an elderly Chinese couple staying in a 3 room flat. She was in charge of the household chores, laundry, marketing and cooking. She worked for them for only 7 months because her ah mah was always playing mahjong late into the night and asking the maid to cook and serve her friends late at night. She found it too exhausting and transferred to her current employer. Her main duty is to take care of ah mah, accompany/assist her when she's walking, bathe her, give her medication, change diapers, cook for her etc. She also does the household chores. She speaks good English and some Mandarin and Hokkien. Transfer maidAs the kids are naughty and proved to be too much for her to handle, she was transferred to another Chinese family to look after an old lady who is wheel-chaired bound after 6 months. She worked for another 6 months before working for another elderly Chinese couple together with another maid. She takes care of the old lady while the other maid takes care of the old man. Eva stays on for 2 years to look after the elderly sickly lady. She baths the elderly lady and feeds her medicine. She also cooks and does the general household chores. After her contract, she went back to Indonesia to take a short break. She is currently working for a Chinese employer. Her employer has given her the following recommendation letter," Eva has been our domestic helper for 7 months. Eva is smart, hardworking, efficient & is a fast learner. Her communication & culinary skills, & human relationship is excellent. I highly recommend Eva as she will be a great helper for any household. " She is currently working for an American Chinese family with 2 sons staying in a Condo. The younger son was not yet borned when she joined them on 1Feb12. Her employer has given her the following reference letter," Eva has been a wonderful helper to me & my family for the past 2 yrs. She has always shown my 2 small children sincere love & warmth & they both love their auntie dearly. She cooks very well & can follow & learn recipes quickly. She always did all thee chores around the house to my high standards & was cheerful & had a good attitude. The most important thing for me was the care of my children & Eva always showed my boys love & affection. Eva is especially good with older children & shows great energy & playfulness which I think is important when raising kids. Other than the usual chores around the house, she was always happily willing to help me when I needed her outside the home on extra errands. Eva is skilled in many areas & will no doubt do a fantastic job with her next family. " As her employer is moving back to the US, she is now looking for a new employer.
