Her primary responsibility was childcare, ensuring the children were well cared for, fed on time, and assisted in their daily hygiene routines and preparation of essentials. She gives special attention to the youngest child, who often experienced stomach discomfort, handling feeding, diaper changes, putting the child to sleep, and supervising playtime. In addition to childcare, Mary Ann cared for the family’s dog and managed household chores, including cleaning, laundry, and ironing. She managed to  learn to prepare Arabic dishes such as mulukiyah, chicken maqluba, biryani, hummus, kebab, and marag. During her employment, she acquired basic conversational Arabic. She completed her contract. 

Mary Ann also cooks traditional Filipino dishes such as pancit bihon, pakbet, pork humba, adobo, spring rolls, afritada, kare-kare, and menudo, and with other continental recipes which she can follow from written instructions.
